The straightforward version
Privacy Policy
This policy covers Pezzul for iOS and Android and the Pezzul website. Pezzul is operated by Marc-Antoine Laberge in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
Your images and puzzles
Images you select and puzzles you create are used to provide the app’s features. Pezzul does not sell your images or personal information. When you choose to share a puzzle, the content is sent only through the sharing method you select.
Image Playground
If you use Apple’s Image Playground features, image generation is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Mobile apps and Google services
The iOS app uses Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config. Android builds with Privacy controls start optional Google services only after a player selects age 18 or older and opts in. Usage analytics, crash reports and online feature services have separate switches. The online feature switch permits Firebase Remote Config to fetch feature settings using an installation identifier, and ML Kit to provide automatic titles with technical usage metrics. ML Kit processes photos on the device; it does not send photos or generated titles to Google. Younger players and people who skip the question can play locally and name puzzles themselves. Earlier Android test builds did not have these controls. Website cookie choices do not change mobile app choices. iOS builds with Privacy controls also keep Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config off until a player selects age 18 or older and opts in separately. The age group stays on the device and is excluded from backup. Analytics can collect app interactions, approximate location, device details and an app-instance identifier. Crashlytics receives crash reports and installation identifiers. Remote Config receives an installation identifier and technical data for feature settings. Younger players and people who skip the question keep these Google services off. These choices do not control Apple's photo tools, purchases or system services. Earlier iOS builds did not have these controls. Withdraw choices from the library's privacy button; requests already in progress may finish.
Diagnostics and analytics
With the relevant Android opt-in, Firebase Analytics receives app interactions, device information and an app-instance identifier; Google can derive approximate location from the network connection. Crashlytics receives crash reports, diagnostic details and installation identifiers. Events can include puzzle difficulty, duration and move count, but not photos, puzzle titles or folder names. Android advertising identifiers and advertising consent are disabled. These controls apply to Android; iOS collection is described above.
Website analytics
With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics through Firebase to measure visits and clicks. Google receives cookie identifiers, browser and device information, and your IP address. Our events include page language and link category, but not email contents, photos or puzzle data. URL queries and fragments are excluded. Advertising features are disabled. Your choice is saved in your browser. You can change it anytime using Analytics preferences in the footer.
Service providers
Google provides the Firebase services described above and may process diagnostics and analytics information on our behalf according to its applicable terms and privacy practices.
Data retention
Your puzzle library stays on your device and can be deleted in the app or by clearing app data. Android privacy choices are excluded from backup and device transfer. Revoking consent stops new optional collection and resets local Analytics data; it does not delete information already sent. Crashlytics retains crash data and associated identifiers for 90 days before starting removal. Analytics event retention follows the property settings; aggregate reports can remain longer. Firebase installation identifiers persist until deleted. For questions or requests to access or delete personal data, contact puzzlegroundapp@gmail.com. We may need additional information to locate data because the released Android game has no user accounts.
Children
Android Privacy controls use an age band stored only on the device; we do not request a birth date or transmit the age answer. Optional Google services remain off for players under 18 and those who do not answer. Adults can change their choices or select Change player through the shield button in the library. Turning off collection cannot recall uploads already in progress. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Pezzul evolves. The latest version will always be available on this page, with its revision date shown above.
